Short description
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine includes twelve institutes, four clinics and our Oberholz teaching and research estate in Großpösna.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is one of five veterinary educational institutions in Germany and one of 14 faculties at the University of Leipzig. It has an eventful history, from its foundation as a veterinary school in Dresden in 1780 to its incorporation into the University of Leipzig in 1923 and its transformation into the Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine Section of the Karl Marx University to the re-establishment of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
