Short description

The Alte Messe West area comprise plots of 5,000 m² to 20,000 m² and is part of an urban planning competition by the city of Leipzig. The winning design has plans for floor areas of around 50,000 m². Elements of the complex are planned with up to four floors and a highpoint with up to ten floors. The intention is for a vibrant quarter to emerge with a focus on research and science institutions, built around a lively centre with an urban feel full of art and culture.

There is also an emphasis on preserving existing heritage buildings and using them sustainably.
