The basis of the "ChipCytometry" technology platform is an innovative procedure in which cell samples are fixed on microfluidic "ZellSafe" chips, then the cell proteins are stained using
fluorescence-labelled antibodies and subsequently analysed by HDR imaging. After the fluorescent dye has faded, new staining cycles are possible. The cell samples, which can be reused for up to
24 months, can thus not only be measured an infinite number of times - chip cytometry also makes it possible to analyse more than 110 biomarkers on one sample. Today, Zellkraftwerk works for
eight of the ten largest pharmaceutical companies and operates a CRO laboratory to support clinical studies in the field of clinical and preclinical biomarker analysis. The company also supports
numerous research programmes worldwide in oncology and autoimmune diseases.
In September 2020, Zellkraftwerk was acquired by Bruker Corporation. This expands the company's service offering in the areas of immune profiling and highly parametric cell and tissue analysis.
